SUPPORT FOR H.RES 109 – “A GREEN NEW DEAL”

WHEREAS, clean water, clean air, and a healthy environment are a basic human right;

WHEREAS, Human-made climate change poses a clear threat to human life, our communities, our infrastructure, local economies, and environment;

WHEREAS, The United States has been producing a disproportionate amount of climate changing greenhouse gasses historically; and addressing climate change issues now will benefit healthy lives, a clean environment, economic growth and stability;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the California Democratic Party affirm its support for H.Res 109, and call for our representatives to support a Green New Deal for every American today and forever, guaranteeing environmental, social, and economic justice for this generation and every generation that follows; and

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the California Democratic Party call for bold action in support of H.Res 109 by our political leaders to move our country toward real climate solutions now, to protect our environment, our health, our communities, our economy, and the human civilization on the planet Earth; and copies of this resolution be provided to US Senator D-CA Dianne Feinstein, US Senator D-CA Kamala Harris, and our Regional House Representatives, State Senators, State Assembly members. and Respective County Democratic Party Organizations.
